I have been playing basketball since I was seven. Basketball was not my first choice for which sport I wanted to play, but it quickly became my favorite. My love for the game grew through long hours practicing with my dad, through rigorous strength and conditioning, and even through doubting myself on how far I would get. Even though my dad would push me past my comfort zone, he was my best-friend and worked hard with me for my success. I thank him for the time he has spent with me everyday. Even though he is gone now, I do live every day in his memory. I go 100 percent every time I step foot on the court because I know my dad would have wanted me to push myself and hold myself accountable. He taught me how to use my height and athleticism against smaller guards and my lateral quickness and shiftiness on bigger opponents. I will strive to be the best teammate and player I can be through any adversity and always give my all. Even off the court, I still want to be the best person I can be. My goal is to attend college and pursue a medical or sports medicine degree.
