Personal Statement
I am a 6’2” point-guard and shooting-guard from New Hampshire. As part of the Class of 2020 I am looking for a college that best fits me academically and athletically. I am searching for a college where I will be able to obtain a degree in forensic science and law enforcement for a military career and a school that will provide me the opportunity to excel in basketball. I am open to exploring colleges and universities from New England down the east coast. As an athlete, I was previously a three-season sports player ( Football, basketball and baseball) from age five until 14 when I made the transition to making basketball my main athletic priority. My previous youth years sports taught me not only team work and commitment but also time management, how to set goals both on and off the court and the value of being a mentor to the youth around me. I would not be the athlete I am today without the influences from my parents, siblings, past coaches and teammates.
I was a two-year varsity basketball player at Bishop Brady High School a private Catholic School in Concord NH both my freshman and sophomore years but have opted to transfer to Trinity High School a private Catholic School in Manchester NH to better established my academic goals for college. I started AAU basketball at age 10 playing for the Granite State Raiders and Coach Frank Alosa and Southern NH Saints and Coach David Constant. In 2019 I will be playing with the DC Blue Devil’s and Coach TJ Thompson. The SNH Saints AAU program prominently travels the Zero Gravity Circuit but has also given me unique opportunities for a more rigorous travel schedule outside of New England such as playing as a freshman with the Saints Varsity Elite Team in NY at the NERR Big Apple Showcase and this year as a teammate on the Adidas Silver Gauntlet VaristyTeam representing New England in Indianapolis Indiana. My main positions are as point guard and shooting guard however my basketball IQ and floor awareness with a combination of my size and versatility allow me to contribute in many ways across other positions.
I would like to find a college that can push me academically as well as athletically. I believe I can make a difference whether it be on the court or in the classroom as I have the dedication, drive and passion. I am a team player that believes it takes a great athlete to know there is always someone who may be better than you but if we strive to be the best, take instruction and bring it on the court there is no holding me or my team back.
