Dwayne Johnson '23 Recruiting Profile

Basketball is an important part of my life and has brought great things in my life. The love for this game I have is unmatchable. I am a strong, explosive slashing guard, strong ball handler and good court vision and can shoot the ball well and a strong defender can guard most positions an overall aggressive player on both ends of the floor.I can stay calm underpressure and can step up in close game situations towards the end of the game. I work hard academically but struggle sometimes but I am dedicating more time not to just improve on the court but also off the court especially in school as this is very important for college and the rest of my life. I'm a very disciplined player and respect my coaches. I am a team player and know to win you need your team to succeed. No one player can win a game or championship by himself. To succeed, the entire team needs to work together towards one goal and put in 110% at all times. When I am struggling or having an off game, I don't keep firing up shots. I figure out how to help and support my team. If I had the choice to score 40 and lose or score 10 and win, I would choose score 10 and win. I have given the ball up multiple times in my career to benefit the team and would continue doing so with whatever college program I continue my career at. I'm friendly to my teammates. Actually, I wouldn't say friendly because they are my family. I'm usually the big brother on the team as my teammates look up to me and my every move and action causes them to react and act a certain way. I'm used to this because I am the 2nd oldest out of 5 children and are the older brother to the 3 younger ones and take care of them whenever I'm not playing basketball or studying for school. I am very passionate about this game and love playing it all the time and would do anything to continue playing it for the rest of my life. I am a very competitive athlete and as a person. I hate losing, but I don't sit around complaining about others' faults. I think about how I can improve and how I will beat them next time we play each other. I strive to be the greatest on and off the court. I am very aggressive on both ends of the floor. These reasons are why I believe I would make a great asset to your program.
