Basketball has become an important thread in my life. My basketball journey began for the same reasons that many kids’ do. My single mom wanted to keep me busy and out of trouble, and playing sports was the easiest way to do that.
I’ve learned becoming a great basketball player is so much more than just the skills that are on display on the court. While a combination of hard work, practice and natural talent does go a long way in helping to develop a player, true greatness in basketball is achieved through developing traits that aren’t easily identifiable, but are the most important for reaching success in the sport.
In the classroom and on the court I display a variety of key qualities that would define myself as a student athlete. I have a strong mind and am very determined to reaching my goals. I am passionate about anything I put my mind to. I am coachable which allows me to be an effective listener and communicator. I want to make my teammates better and always remember we are a team. And lastly I always have the desire to get better. When you have this mindset you constantly work hard and think of ways to push yourself to the limit.
