Making the varsity Basketball team as a sophomore in highschool was a highlight in my basketball career, making me feel that I have the skillset if I continue to work hard and improve my basketball skills to potentially continue my career after high school. However I believe that i grew the most as a student athlete not from this early success but rather by the adversity and challenges I faced later in that season. I made adjustments by learning from my failures and my teams while setting new goals to elevate our success facing new challenges. These include taking on a major role in the rotation after a key player suffered a season ending injury, just a couple of games into my first year as a varsity athlete. However through these challenges I believe I grew monumentally as a person and an athlete by maturing and supplying a drive and desire to succeed, lead, and learn to grow and play at the college level. I have been fortunate enough to be apart of an amazing program that has instilled the values of toughness mentally and physically, teamwork, commitment, leadership, sacrifice, responsibility, competitiveness, discipline, and character. Im looking for a basketball program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe that I not only have the skillset defensively and offensively to compete for a spot on a college basketball team, but also the character, desire, the never give up mentality and leadership skills to make an impact in a role for a program. As a outstanding student athlete and captain on my team, I know that I have what it takes to contribute to your team through my leadership and competitive spirit.
