I started playing competitive basketball in the third grade. As I began to mature, I knew that I wanted to be able to have the opportunity to play basketball when I go to college. I have developed into a pretty good player. I handle the ball well, have soft hands, have a decent shooting touch and finish strong going to the basket. I am a rugged defender who can clog the paint. I am a strong rebounder who sees the floor and likes to pass. I try to lead by setting a good example and work hard at improving my skills and knowledge of the game. I am a very coachable, team player.
In the classroom and at home, I am respectful of classmates, friends and family. I study hard and maintain good grades while trying to enjoy my teenage years. This past summer I volunteered and counseled at a youth basketball camp.
I look forward to attending college where I can develop the academic skills that will lay the groundwork of the profession that I seek. I love playing basketball and I want to compete at the highest level in college. I want to succeed scholastically and on the court at the college that best fits me. Hopefully, I can be a role model amongst my peers and I can make my Mom, Dad and brother proud.
