2016 Highlights
Top 100 College S...I’m very excited about the opportunities that college can offer me both on and off the court. Academically, I would like to go into athletic training. While I would absolutely love an opportunity to play basketball in college, my grades and academic achievements are also very important to me.
On the court, I’m a very calm and relaxed player. I’m a combo guard, so I enjoy playing both guard positions. During the game, I usually play whatever role my team needs me to play in order for us to win; whether its scoring, playing good defense, rebounding, or setting my teammates up, I would rather win than be the star of the show. The accomplishment I’m proudest of is when my AAU team this past summer went to AAU nationals. It was both a great experience for me and for our team as a whole. To get to nationals, we won the AAU superregional in New Haven with an undefeated record. I led my team with 15 three pointers and I played a large role in our comeback to win the championship game.
In order to achieve my goal of being an athletic trainer, I put a lot of emphasis in science and math, which are two subjects I really enjoy. I’m very competitive academically as well so I want to get the best grades that I can. I have challenged myself with three AP courses this year, and I will take at least four AP courses my senior year. I’m currently in the honor society and band as well as varsity basketball at my school and I take pride in my academic accomplishments.
I have always enjoyed helping others, especially kids, so I have been active in community service since seventh grade. In middle school, I was in the national junior honor society and I was selected for TLC (Tornadoes Listening and Caring). I enjoy coaching and helping young kids learn to play basketball. On my AAU team, I like to be a quiet leader by example. When we are struggling, I try to encourage my teammates.
I know that college will open new doors for me and I appreciate all the help that I receive from my teachers, coaches, and family.
