I am not my father. I may look like him and have similar mannerism, but I am Quinn Wilson. I was born and raised in Rochester, NY and basketball has been my passion since a very young age. Perhaps my father once being a 6’8” center at La Salle University and exposing me to basketball at a very young age has some influence. I started playing basketball at the age of 3 at the YMCA where I spent most of my time. I have been playing basketball every chance I get since. I have encountered many difficulties along this journey of me becoming a collegiate basketball player. When I was younger, I experienced rapid growth which challenged my coordination and skill development compared to some of my peers. This pushed me to work harder. During my freshman year of high school, I joined the football team. During this season, I broke my left ankle. I had a long course of rehabilitation and the fear that this injury would impact my growth. I also missed the majority of the basketball season that year. I had to work hard to get back to the physical state I was before my injury. Thank goodness I had a strong recovery and continues to grow taller. I am grateful for the opportunities to work and learn from numerous coaches and teammates in the Rochester area. I am eager to learn, grow, and become more skilled. I am most excited to take my basketball training to the next level where I can achieve my dream of being the best version of myself. My ultimate goal is to become a professional basketball player. I am also interested in a career in medicine, especially care after an accident or injury.
