Hard working, open minded, coachable, thoughtful and always looking to improve...these are words that teachers and coaches have used to describe me. As a student-athlete, I have taken the idea that I can always improve at my craft to heart.
I am coming into my senior year, stronger, faster, and more confident than ever. I am ready for the year and know I will give my teammates and coach the very best I have. I shown discipline with my diet and workout routine so that I can be prepared.
On the court, I am a leader. I handle and distribute the ball well and I can finish around the basket and connect on the 3 ball. I can defensively rebound the ball and lead the transition fast break and pass or finish. On defense, I am strong on ball, and have frequently defended the best scorers on the opposing teams.
I am looking to play basketball at a competitive level. In college, I want to work with a team of peers and coaches that are dedicated to improving together each day. I want to earn a four year degree that will help me achieve my career goals in criminal justice. I have learned that basketball and education are very similar- they both take a lot of work but they develop character and skills that will help me in life.
Worth noting: I am taking and doing well in 3 college classes this senior year. My average as of first quarter is a 94.
I also helped my school collect and deliver food to those in need for Thanksgiving. That was a great day of service especially since we were delivering to my very own community where I live.
