Michele Chavez Galluccio '18 Recruiting Profile

I’m Italian and speak Italian, English and Spanish, I study hard and I also carry a 3.05  GPA  and posted a 1140 on  my SAT, I have been playing basketball since I was seven years old, I moved to Staten Island, New York 2015 for my sophomore year with a scholarship of Monsignor Farrell High School in NY and I was studying and playing there until my mother get ill. That occurrence obligated me to come back to Italy in early June 2016. In my senior year I moved to Torrelodones, Madrid, Spain, to continue my studies and to be part of the basketball team and keep working on basketball skills. I attended the  High School "Los Sauces" in Torrelodones Spain and I graduated in spring of 2018. During that year the teachers told me, that I had the skills to skip one year and to graduate a year early respect of what is the Italian average (in the Italian scholar system the high school is composed of five years).  In this moment, I am in the prep school Combine Academy, which is located in Lincolnton, North Carolina.

I like to push in transition  for an easy layup or a wide open three for my teammates. I am very coachable with a big hard work ethic and I like to help teammates for any type of problems in and off the court. I have of team player philosophy and a total focus on discipline and performance. The Sport has taught me the importance of discipline, practice and strength to reach one's goal. I work steadily in my game tactics recognizing my weaknesses and expanding my strengths

In my country, I used to run as point guard and sometime as a two, but when I start playing at Combine I begun to run as a shooting guard. In the last two years I have been working to increase my shoot range to get a solid 3pt shooting.

I would like attend a University where I can push myself to a new level in class and on the court. My experiences in different contexts and countries have helped me to have a great ability to interact and integrate without difficulty.  I am available to any options of scholarship and to find the right university where it coincide the highest level of basketball possible and education that I deserve. I am intended to study psychology as my Major and to get a Minor in business.

I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the basketball court. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible.
