Liam Murphy '20 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6’7”, 210 LB., Small Forward from Staten Island, NY.   Playing for St. Peter’s Boys HS (Class of 2020) in NYCHSA AA, I captained the freshman,  JV and Varsity basketball teams, winning championships in my sophomore, junior and senior years.  I averaged 16 pts. and 6 rebounds a game as the only junior in the starting lineup and was selected as a SI CHSAA All-Star in 2018-19. Additionally, I was selected to the NY All-State team (9th team) by the NYSSWA for 2019. This season (2019-20), we won our fourth straight (and 35th overall) Championship (as I averaged 27 points and 12 rebounds per game). I was also selected SIHSL Tournament MVP.  

In my quest to continue developing my skills, I was fortunate to play with the NY Jayhawks on the Adidas Gold Circuit the last two summers.  This past season we advanced to the Final Four at the Adidas Gauntlet Finale in California.  Last year our team had a very successful season (winning several tournaments in Virginia, Atlanta and Florida), and was nationally ranked.  

Taking pride in my academics, I have carried a 4.0 GPA and am a member of the National Honor Society.  My goal is to marry competitive basketball and challenging academics, as I prepare for a career in Business Administration or Economics.

I am committed to putting in the work necessary to be successful in Division 1 basketball and in the classroom, while being the best teammate that I can be.
