My name is Niles McAdoo, and I am a senior shooting guard for Creekside High School Varsity Basketball Team in Fairburn, GA. I have played every year of high school. I have been playing basketball ever since I was one year old! I have always had a passion for basketball. My father was also an award-winning basketball player in Harlem, NY. I love the game of basketball, so I always have one in my hands. This season I was selected “Player of the Game” five times by my coaches and teammates.
I’ve been called a sharpshooter because of my three-point field goals. I also have the ability to get to the rim and finish in traffic. I have the speed to go coast to coast down the floor with the ball. I can shoot off the dribble as well as catch and shoot. In addition to having excellent ball handling and shooting skills, I take feedback and direction well from my coaches. I have strong ball handling skills and physical defense. I strive to be one of the hardest working players and recruits you’ll find. I am always working to improve my game. I work hard year round on my fundamental basketball skills so I can be the best on and off the court by participating in my school’s summer league and regular season basketball programs as well as AAU for Atlanta Select Black. I also participate in Cross Country and advanced conditioning and weightlifting which all contribute to my athletic ability.
I would be an asset to your team because I am a very unselfish, dedicated, and self-motivated team player. I try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I believe that basketball is a team sport. I feel that I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but also the character, work ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players for any team I am a part of. Basketball has taught me time management, goal setting, teamwork, and commitment.
My college goal is to find a school that I can get a great education first and be a part of a successful basketball team second. Since I first stepped on the court, I have aspired to play at the collegiate level. I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the basketball court. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to my peers and to make my parents proud. I would love to continue to play basketball at any level to earn my Bachelor’s Degree in Fitness and Recreation. I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life. Playing in college is my dream and I have a strong love for the game. I strive to be a leader on and off the basketball court by maintaining good grades and relationships with others. On the court, I have a competitive edge and push myself and my teammates to be the best we can be. I believe what makes me different from other recruits is my ability to adjust accordingly to the flow of the game. I believe I would be a great asset to any basketball program as I have worked hard my entire high school career to improve my game, my fundamentals, and my overall athletic ability. I would love to talk to you about my future as an athlete on your team. Thank you for your time and consideration!
