I am Great. 

I have Determination. 

I keep Humility. 

I believe I am great because I have a purpose in honoring my personal values Aside with living and being my true self everyday. 

I have determination in being a 6’0 Point Guard that will be recognized as a leader of a team. 

I keep humility because I know there are more players greater than me. I learn from the best and know I will an exceptional ball player. 

This is my senior year and although I am from a suburb in Illinois, I currently attend Combine Academy Boarding School in North Carolina as I was awarded a scholarship to attend. The academy is partially owned by NBA player Trevor Booker and currently the head basketball coach is Jeff McInnis former NBA player. When I originally arrived to the academy we had boot camp and the work outs were intense! I have learned so much discipline so far and look forward to using all my conditioning, training, and development skills as a player in college. In addition, since I was not always a good student the academy has helped me develop academically as well. I have learned better study habits that will help me in college

I have been playing basketball since I was three years old. Since I first stepped on the court, my goal was to play at the collegiate level and then NBA. I have strong ball handling skills, the ability to see the court and strategize, and a high basketball IQ. I am a strong team leader and try to lead by example.  

Off the court, I am a director of a non for profit organization called "The Giving Hands Organization" which strives to redevelop housing in troubled communities and have my own clothing label called "Icon Don". 

 From the time I was able to realize that I wanted to go to a university I knew that when the time came it would be a challenge in deciding which one I really wanted to attend. The time has now come for me to make the life changing decision of which university would be the right fit. Does it have everything I need to be successful? I have been playing basketball since the third-grade so my idea of a great university is a 2-for 1., which is one where I can get a great education and allows me to have a ball in my hand.
