I started off with a promising start playing at Dunbar high school while going to school at one of the most difficult schools in the area, Dayton Early College Academy. My freshman season was great. I eventually started reserve and played some varsity. My sophomore was very similar. I played reserve and some varsity but unfortunately my academics were not where they needed to be. Because of this, I had to sit out the second half of my sophomore year. This along with me not really finishing at Dunbar like I wanted, I decided it was time to make a change.
This is when I transferred to Stivers. My junior year at Stivers was a great change for me. My grades increased tremendously even though the school is ranked just as high as my previous school. My basketball season was also good even, though I had to wait until the second half of the season to play.
I have learned through my own mistakes that academics need to come first in this process and I am taking that very seriously at this time in my high school career. I feel like my basketball skill level is coming along very well at time. I'm just looking for an opportunity to continue playing basketball and furthering my education.
