Personal Statement

I am Trey Smith, an 11th grade student (class of 2016) at Delphos Jefferson High School in Delphos, Ohio.  I finished my Junior season by being named All Conference, All District, All Area, All Northwest Ohio, and All State;  I am a 4.0 student who enjoys Language Arts, Reading, Science and Math classes. I earned a 29 on my initial attempt on the ACT.  My dad is our high school coach and I've grown up in a gym from the time I could crawl.  I enjoy playing for our school team as well as travel ball;  I've been fortunate to play all over the Midwest and met a lot of different people.  I am the tallest person in my class at 6'5, but I play against bigger athletes routinely in AAU ball.  I am working extremely hard to improve all my skills on a daily basis.  I attend strength and conditioning training three times per week; in addition, I never miss a school open gym and enjoy improving my skills in my spare time.  I believe I have the work ethic and desire to play college ball;  I only hope that I grow to 6'7 like my grandpa and two uncles (my mom is also tall so that should help).  I am surrounded by a wonderful support system for which I'm extremely grateful.  My high school principal, athletic director, guidance counselor, or assistant coach would be glad to assist in any way as well.
