Fairview High School – 2020
As I approach my senior year, I am very close to achieving a goal I set for myself in sixth grade. My goal was to play basketball in college. However, when I set that goal, I really didn’t understand what it would take. With guidance from my parents, teachers and coaches, I have developed a strong work ethic both in the classroom and on the basketball floor to prove to myself I have what it takes to succeed academically and play basketball at the next level. At home, my parents made sure that I understood and appreciated the balance of education and athletics. As working professionals, they both realize the importance a college degree can have upon my future.
If provided the right opportunity, I can substantiate the preparation and work habits that have gotten me to this point in my life. I can fulfill the commitment my parents made to me 17 years ago to provide an opportunity to earn a college degree. I can achieve the goal I set for myself 6 years ago.
