Kevin Martinez '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kevin Martinez, an aspiring basketball, who is seeking to fulfill my lifelong dream of obtaining scholarships through my talents and playing post-secondary basketball. I am a good candidate for a team because basketball is my passion, which just correlates with having love for the game, being determined to get better every time I pick up a ball, and doing everything I can do in order to stay on the court, like doing my best in the classroom, and staying out of trouble off the court. I am also extremely coachable. I am able to execute what a Coach would like me to do on and off the court. I respect and learn from my Coaches, and I plan to learn more from my future Coaches and teammates. I am different from other recruits because I will work hard and do everything I am capable of doing to get better and get the job done, whether it be winning the title on the court, or get an A on my next test. I believe once a Coach sees me workout and/or play, they will see that I am the hardest working player on that court, without a doubt. 

I’m a high IQ guard that is able to push the ball down the floor at a fast pace, and/or play at a slow pace while controlling the offence. I am strong with the ball and have many dribbling/finishing moves in my repertoire. I am able to shoot the lights out from 3, even 5-10 feet behind the line. On defence, I am a pest that will be able to contain and stay in front of the other team's quick/shifty guards.
