My name is Evan Mowder, I have just completed my grade 11 (junior) year in Canada. I have a 4.0 gpa and take my academics very seriously. I have been playing and training within rep basketball for over 10 years. I started on my Varsity basketball team (mostly grade 11-12’s) when I was in grade 10 (sophomore) at high school. My current rep team is currently Burlington Force Elite, we play in the CYBL league and North Pole Hoops Rep Circuit based in Toronto as well as in other competitive tournaments. My strength position is Shooting guard and supporting point guard with bringing up the ball. It's unexpected that I have the ball handling skills at this height when competitors first play defence on me. With my height, I also play Small Forward which provides an improved versatility for the needs of the team. I like to shoot the ball and do so effectively. I have been training to become more aggressive and physical to be able to expand my game and take it to the next level. My #1 strength is playing defense. With an average of just over 3 steals per game and am involved in many others by tipping and forcing poor passing and decisions. I am proficient from the free throw line averaging 84%. Being trained in my years as a guard and focus on decision making, I have excellent court vision and high basketball IQ. This provides me the ability to understand the game in front of me and make reads that a many weaker guards struggle with. I've been told by my various coaches that I have a very strong work ethic and am always looking to get better!
