Since the age of seven, I have been on the basketball court 5 out of 7 days a week training, practising and playing competitive basketball in Ontario. My college aspirations and goals include playing high-level competitive college basketball for D1 and obtaining a scholarship. I am a valuable asset to any team as I possess strong leadership skills both on and off the court and excellent sportsmanship skills. I am different than other players who only focus on their own game as I bring positive energy to my team and boost everyone's morale and motivate each teammate to put forth their best effort by modelling it. I display a strong work ethic and devote all my free time to perfecting my basketball skills. I am very coachable and have strong positve relationships with all my coaches. In addition, I have mental toughness and maintain focus during games. I demonstrate critical thinking and problem analysis skills on the court. I display self-confidence, push myself to reach my full potential and inspire others to bring their game to the next level. I have shown great perseverance by working my way up to rep club basketball, in particular on D1 teams. I played with one of the first Ontario teams to be part of the first basketball league in Ontario, the Amateur Basketball Syndicate League. This league was Canada's largest competitive boys' and girls' basketball league. Over the years, I have improved my shooting technique, defense skills and dribbling skills. I have been playing in D1 level since before high school basketball. My school, Vaughan Secondary School (where Andrew Wiggins graduated), is ranked 2nd in Ontario.
My achievements in basketball include the Cment Leadership Award, AAU Basketball Stars of America Tournament Champions March 20-22, 2015, Tomlaw Red Swarm Full Court Attack Finalist, MMBA Tournament A Runner-Up, ABC Magic Best Defensive Player Award, Vaughan Basketball House League Champions (3 years in a row) and Vaughan Basketball M.V.P. Award. It has been a great honour to receive these awards, trophies and achievements for playing the sport I love, breathe and live!
