Personal Statement

For my colligate goals/aspirations, I strive to play basketball at the college/university level regardless of division. I'm a student athlete, with my academics always being the priority in my life. I've always been an 85+ my entire academic career while also being dedicated to basketball.

I've been described by coaches as a high iq floor spacer. I pride myself on being a coach on the court, being a vocal leader to help out teammates to ensure team success. I'm most comfortable as an off the ball threat, helping to space the floor. However, I'm also a capable ball handler and during my high-school season I'm always the primary ball handler. I can be an effective floor spacer as well as someone who can draw paint gravity to set up teammates or get to the line. I also am a capable defender who regularly switches 1-4 and holds my own regardless of matchup. I'm active in driving lanes getting my hand on the ball and forcing pickups/kickouts.

I hope to draw the interest in any program willing to allow me an opportunity to contribute on or off the court. To whomever may be reading this, thank you for your time and it would be appreciated if you can check out some of my tape in my bio or contact me for any questions. Thank you!

Training

  • I am Basketball Academy
  • 1 year
  • I have trained with my former coach David Carter for about a year . It has helped with my ball handling, fitness, footwork, basketball IQ, confidence, creating my own shot, and shooting . I've personally seen a big step in my game since starting with him.
  • Hoopfactory
  • 5 years
  • I have trained with the Hoopfactory camp for my whole basketball career. It is run by Northern Kings founder Vidal Massiah and I trained at the Toronto location at North Toronto Collegiate Institute. I got to train with many assistant coaches and college athletes such as Marcus Carr and Koby Elvis. Over the course of the past few years I worked a ton on footwork , defense, IQ, shooting, ball handling, fitness and shot creating. During the 2020 pandemic we did Zoom calls where we worked on ball handling, fitness, financial literacy, footwork, proper diet, and basketball IQ. The biggest thing that I did with them was fix my shooting form where over the Zoom calls I fixed my shot through various drills and repetition. I wouldn't be the player I am today without Hoopfactory.
  • Atlas Elite Performance Training/ Red Warriors Basketball
  • 4 years
  • I trained with Atlas and the Red Warriors for about 4 years from about when I started grade 5 until mid way through grade 8. I was trained by a few assistant coaches and the main coach Anthony Magadong mainly. I also played for their summer team in grades 6 and 7.
  • Dane Smith
  • 1 year
  • I trained with former D1 UT Martin guard Dane Smith during 2022-2023. He helped me develop a more consistent 3-point shot which has helped transform my game as well as guard skills. These guard skills have allowed me to become a more confident ball handler and scorer off the dribble, expanding my game from an exclusive off-ball player to someone who can take their man off the bounce if needed.
