Atinc Goc '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Atinc Goc, I am a student from the class of 2019 at William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute in Toronto, Ontario and I would like a few minutes of your time to talk about giving me an opportunity to be a part of your program. I have been following and playing basketball for years. I have recently researched about different teams and your program has stood out to me.

     I was born and raised  in Izmir, Turkey and immigrated to Canada two years ago. I am currently a part of my school's senior basketball team and I am working on improving my English and my classes as well. I was a fellow player of a well known Turkish basketball team, Pinar Karsiyaka, for six years. I would like to list some of my proudest accomplishments:

• three region championships

• a state championship

• 11th place in Turkish national basketball championships

• international tournament championship in Greece

   I play as the point guard and shooting guard on my current team, however I have previously played and learned about every position to better understand my teammates and strengthen communications during a game. I believe I stand out from other players because of my shooting and passing skills and my court vision. I also believe that playing for and in two different countries has helped me develop my style as a player and has built my ability to adapt both more effectively and efficiently.
