I started playing basketball in 2nd grade, and from that first season I loved the game. I am a multi-sport athlete, but if I could only play one it would be basketball all the way. Basketball has helped me to be a better teammate and stronger athlete. Living in a small rural community has been challenging because there are not many options for teams and competition. I have been able to join teams outside of my community that provide higher competition levels and more opportunities to help me grow as an athlete. The last three seasons I have been a part of Oregon Amateur Basketball and have excelled in all aspects of the game. As a shooting guard I have a good jump shot and my height helps me to be a better defensive player. This year I managed to create strong connections with my teammates despite being the outsider. I brought a great deal of energy and connected well with my teammates.
I have strong aspirations of playing basketball at the collegiate level, as well as excelling academically in college. I want to study sports medicine and eventually go to medical school to be a physician for professional athletes. I am a great student and will continue to work hard on and off the court to meet my goals of academic and athletic success.
