Basketball has been an important part of my life ever since I picked up a ball. Even though I didn't start playing competitive ball till 8th grade the excitement of playing pickup at the park sparked my dreams of playing professional basketball. My dream has caused me to chase constant improvement, passing other players who have played for years, in just one. Becoming the team captain of my freshman basketball team made me a leader with teammates looking up to me for help. For all mistakes made in the game, I'll take responsibility because being a leader is not taking the credit when you do well, but taking the blame when things don't work out and investing in the improvement of everyone around you, even your opponents.
