One thing that really stands out in a basketball player is their attitude when in games. The worst thing is when the supposably best player on the team has the most cocky attitude and brings this negative vibe to the team that just intimidates them from playing how they normally play. I’ve had a ton of experience in this sort of situation. I’m the type of player to pick others up when they’re down, give tips on how to better their gameplay and also put people on the spot when they need to hear it. My days all this year have basically consisted of school, basketball, gym and work and I wouldn’t change that for anything because knowing that I’m getting better and better at the sport I am most passionate for while others are out relaxing and not focusing makes me confident... confident that there will be a coach who will see through the bs and notice which player is the most hardworking one there. I create a positive and dead focused environment for the coaches and players that I’m around , but also a fun environment. Almost every day now for a few months I’ve been playing with the same person almost every single day and it still makes me happy knowing that even though I might not be playing for a college team; then he will be because I wouldn’t let it be any other way. I feel like my work ethic is honestly right around where it should be, just bettering myself everyday not only in basketball but in the areas I am vulnerable in. In games I’m honestly the most unselfish player you’ll ever see play at my level. My stats are usually super balanced; if I were to drop a triple double it would consist of 10 pts, rebounds and assists because I feel like games are won more by teams than just players. How many games did Michael Jordan, lebron or even Kobe score more than 40 points and still lost? It just proves that the points aren’t even close to as important as your overall stats. One of my strong suits I’ve had for almost 3-4 years now is really my free throws... whenever it was nice outside or even when it was cold, I would find a hoop to play on (indoor or outdoor) and just practice my form for hours making sure each make was identical so there was always an explanation for any of my misses. There are 3 things that must be done to win a game, Passing, defense and free throws. Now I know that I might not be the stand out player, having a lot of other kids my age having more experience and such, but I can guarantee that I don’t see a Plateau in sight for how much my basketball skills can increase. I have the most general all around game style out of anyone I know. I would be put at center in games and be in the post the whole time but off the court I only practice the shooting and dribbling from the outside so that I’m not a 6’0 senior only knowing the paint gameplay. I hope this convinces any coach reading this to be interested in recruiting me... thank you!
