"Never give up. Don't ever give up." I take pride in living my life under these great words spoken by the late Jim Valvano. I have chosen to live by these words not only on the court, but also in the classroom and in my personal life. My hard work has paid off as I led the Mansfield Summit Jaguars to a 2nd place finish in the 2017 Texas McDonalds Invitational. My consistency and determination was rewarded with the honor of being selected to the 'All Tournament' team. Our team finished with a 5-1 record. I pride myself on focusing on fundamentals and having a higher basketball IQ than anyone on the court.
While I haven't chosen a specific field of study academically, my love of sports has led to an interest in sports medicine. Seeing the struggles of others in life has driven me to want to help people be successful. I believe this leads to my desire for teamwork in life as well as on the court. Throughout my college career, my goal will be to prepare for my future. While I may not know where life will take me, I want to be as prepared as possible for what it may bring.
