My main goal is to play basketball in college. That is a huge dream of mine and it's realistic. Rivals just listed me at #112 in Texas (https://n.rivals.com/ranks/3436). There are only two Austin, TX recruits listed so I'm pumped. I've already grown an inch since the report, and as a young 16-year-old, I'm not done growing yet (I'm 6'4" now with a size 16 shoe). I am built like a "big", but I can still shoot and dribble like a guard. I am a great rebounder and a great defensive player. In fact, TexasHoops.com just said this about me in their Tops in Texas recap: "Skilled marksman from 3 and mid-range, good size, will put it on the floor and score, showed versatility as an inside/out prospect, will make a tough play look easy, gets after his opponent on both ends of the court, smart heady player." This review highlights that I specialize in three pointers and getting to the basket on offense. Ultimately, I want to get as much playing time as possible, but I really want to get better every day so that I can possibly play overseas or maybe even in the NBA in the future. Hey, goals are important right?
I am different from other recruits because of my work ethic and my desire to get better every day and win. I know all athletes say this, but I am out there on my driveway practicing even after a good game. My teammates say I'm a good leader who helps motivate others in tough spots. That character trait is something I'm proud of. I also have good grades and care about my work in the classroom. Service is important to me as well. I participate in an Appalachian Service Project every year with my youth group to help build houses or do the work that needs to be done to help nominated families. Therefore, I'm different from other players because I want to improve myself both on an off the court.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
