Norman Boyd '19 Recruiting Profile

While being the Captain of my freshman basketball team and leading the team in both scoring and rebounding has been a great accomplishment, this achievement has come from the past few years of skills, development and growth both on the court and in the classroom.  I have always immensely enjoyed being part of a team, whether it’s been basketball, soccer, baseball or band. These experiences have taught me how to get along well and work effectively with different kinds of people. Playing trumpet in one of the nation’s top jazz bands taught me how to push myself and hold myself to high standards of performance. Playing sports at all levels from city leagues to AAU teams has taught me an appreciation for the same high level of competition and achievement.

As a graduate of the class of 2019, I look forward to continuing to work to be a successful student and athlete at the college level.  On the court I welcome the role of the Captain and leader and I would bring a high level of enthusiasm and commitment to any team, university or program I am fortunate enough to play for.  As a leader I see it as my responsibility to not only act as an example of excellence and teamwork on the court, but to also act as a committed student off the court.
