Gavin Steele '16 Recruiting Profile

Thank you so much for taking the time to view my profile.  If I had to rank items of importance, they would be as follows in the order mentioned:  faith, family, academics, and sports.  Yet if you are around me for five minutes, you will know without a doubt that my passion and drive for competition is unshakable.   I am committed to the dedication that must take place on a daily basis to compete on a collegiate level in any sport.  Practicing good discipline along with continuing to grow and develop academically and spiritually are priorities in my life.

One of the major decisions that I've ever faced came the summer before my freshman year of high school.  After praying for several months along with family and friends, I elected to play home school basketball.   Following that path gave me an opportunity to graduate from the small, private Christian school where I was the very first student to attend.   My aunt left her job and started a school with just one student - me (and sometimes my little sister would occasionally visit with her bunny). 

Although I lettered in basketball and played that game from the age of seven until I graduated, as a freshman at Oral Roberts University, I was given the chance to run track.  At the time, the thought of the challenge was af
