Ayden McDonald '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ayden McDonald. I am from Forney, Texas and am a freshman at Forney High School and play on the varsity basketball team. Sports have always been a big part of my life from an early age. I have played soccer and I ran track, but my love is for basketball. The feeling when I'm playing is just different from anything else I do. I could play forever. All-day, every day. Unfortunately, I can't, because of school. I have had to learn to balance school and sports, along with extracurricular activities. As much as I wish I could play basketball all day and not worry about other things, I realize that in order for me to have a future in anything, but especially sports, I have to value school and my grades. Often, it is difficult, luckily, I have a great family around me that is willing to help me with anything I am going through, which I am very thankful for. I love going in my backyard and shooting on the hoop we have outside, I love watching film with my dad and learning new things about the game that I hadn't realized before, of course, games are great and I wanna play all the time, but I love working extremely hard as well. I just love the game. No matter what kind of mood I'm in or how I'm feeling or what's going on in life, I know that I can always count on the game of basketball.
