Personal Statement

I have been playing basketball for the majority of my life and fell in love with the game early on. When I reached 7th grade  I knew that this was something that I wanted to pursue past high school.  As a result, I set the goal of maximizing my basketball potential. As I entered my later years of middle school and my first AAU team in the 6th grade, I saw just how many kids wanted the same thing so I turned to my discipline & work ethic to separate myself. From that day on I began working as hard as I could not only on the court and weight room, but in the classroom as well.

Throughout my High School years I have maintained a 4.0 GPA, received all A´s, earned a 1490 on my SAT, and a 33 on my ACT. My ability to excel not only on the court, but in academics as well is something I believe can make me a unique basketball recruit.  Additionally, over the course of High School I made a deliberate effort to challenge myself academically by taking every AP class that was available. I believe my academics translated onto  the basketball court as well since it pushed me to study the game at a deeper level resulting in enhancing my basketball IQ . I then quickly realized that this heightened basketball IQ became especially useful to me as a point guard since it allowed me to see the game differently and anticipate opportunities in ways that some may not be able to.

In recent years, I have exponentially polished my offensive game and I am constantly honing my ball handling skills, and shooting. As a result, my shooting range has expanded quite a bit .  Having said that, the two aspects of my game that I primarily pride myself on are my defense and passing. Each game I seek out the other teams best player and make it a personal challenge to lock them down defensively. In addition, I find great joy in making plays for others by making the extra pass. In college I plan to continue to pursue my academic goals by majoring in Finance and I strive to establish a career in the Wealth Management or Investment Banking field.

  • CAMP DIRECTOR ASSESSMENT: Daniel Menses – Frisco High School – 2021 The senior guard also from Frisco is a player that is very knowledgeable on how to find the open shooter. His passes were pretty immaculate this past weekend, and well if you look at his high school statistics, you can tell that Daniel is no joke. As a guy that averages 13 points per game, that really is not even his best statistic. Menses also averages 76% from the field and 86% from the free throw line. Daniel is the senior guard from the city of Frisco that I would very much recommend taking a look into for a potential solid college athlete.
