Brenden Gomez '26 Recruiting Profile

Dear Coaches,

It is a pleasure to be in the position to introduce myself to you. I have been playing basketball since the age of 4, in the YMCA, AAU and school setting. My ultimate goal is to play college basketball while pursuing my degree.

I truly understand the weight that comes with being an athlete. It takes dedication and grit, which are two characteristics I possess. In middle and high school I took AP classes and played sports. At first, it was challenging to keep up with my curriculum, homework and basketball practices; however, after I laid out a plan and managed my time, completing my tasks was no longer an issue. 

Throughout my time as an athlete, I‘ve learned how to be agile and pivot when necessary. I have the desire to be coached and molded into an even better player and individual. 

Competing in sports has taught me mental toughness, resilience and self-discipline, to name a few. I would consider myself to be shy; however, on the court, I communicate effectively with my teammates and the coaches. 

My parents and coaches have taught me the importance of being respectful to others, even when things get tough. I care about my success, but I also care about the success of my teammates.
