Personal Statement

Basketball has been apart of my life for 9 years now. Out of all the sports I played growing up, Basketball was the most exciting and exhilarating of them all. Through all my ups and downs, good games and bad games, conditioning and weight room sessions I have progressed through. Basketball is still the sport I choose and love over all the rest of the other sports known to man. It has always been a life-long dream to play college basketball, earn my degree in my chosen major, then hear my name called in the NBA Draft to fulfill a dream come true.

My attributes include a quick first step, talking and communicating on the floor, diving on the floor and hustling for balls, and putting my team's needs ahead of my own. I lead my team by getting them involved in all aspects of the game, talking/cheering them up after a missed shot or mistake, and try my best to distribute the ball to them which ever way I can to put them in the best position to score. I'm very coachable, I gladly welcome coaching points and hints to help me get better each and every day I pick up a basketball. I am a hard, dedicated worker, who is pursuing his dream every day to be better than he was the day before.

When I'm not on the court, I am in the books for school to get my GPA higher and increase my class rank.I put school and grades before basketball, because without a good education, going to college and playing at the college level will not be possible. I attend local and national basketball camps.

I aspire to attend a college that fits my academics and skill sets. College basketball sounds like an exhilarating experience like no other, that I am striving everyday to rise to. I play basketball because I love the game. I would like to leave a legacy that would not only inspire people, but encourage them to never be discouraged by anyone to achieve a dream they have always wanted.

  • ScoutsFocus Elite 80 Evaluation Tavarski Wardlow, a 5'10 140 lb prospect out of Hendrickson HS (TX), is a quick guard that is looking to get out into the open floor and make plays for his team in transition. He is a natural leader on the floor communicating with his team on every possession. Coaches in attendance would like to see him continue to develop his jumper. He sees the floor well and hits his teammates cutting to the rim for easy looks at the basket. Position(s):1; 2

  • D2 Great floor general. Really communicates well on the court. Very good on ball defender. Moves well without the ball, knows how to get himself open. Unselfish player and good passer. Must add strength. Continue working on your decision making. Love your potential, especially with some added weight!

  • D3 - Quick guard w/ a good first step. Does well for rebounding for his size and at his position. Good passer who can make the easy play, but not the harder passes due to lack of strength. Hitting the weight room over these next 2 years will help him greatly on both the DEF end and w/ his penetrations to the rim. Needs to show ability to shoot off the dribble better and be consistent w/ it. Coach Jeff Mallory
