MarTevian McGee '19 Recruiting Profile

Greetings coach[es]. My name is MarTevian McGee. I was born in Texarkana, TX, but I was raised here in Tyler. For as long as I could remember, I knew I wanted to do something in life that dealt with the best sport to ever be created, which is basketball. As a kid, of course I had my dreams of making it to the NBA, but as I got older, it seemed more and more impossible, like I just wasn't getting anywhere. In middle school, I was the star of the B-Team, and was told there wasn't enough spots on the A-Team. By time high school ball rolled around, I had already kind of given up on myself because I felt as if no one could really see my potential. No one wanted to use me. I couldn't express my talents. I started getting I. trouble, and was eventually kicked from the team. After high school, I had joined the army for 2 years, but I couldn't bare it, it just wasn't for me. I've been lost in life the past couple of years. But I am sitting here, at this very moment, attempting to find myself. Find happiness. Find my purpose. I just want knowledge on how I can, or what I need to do to become a part of a TEAM. I may not have a personal trainer, or a coach, but I have the drive to succeed, the motivation to learn, and the will, the become apart of something bigger than myself. All I want to do is earn my education, play ball, and do what a man does, care for his family and his people. I want to be focused, on and off the court. All I need is a chance. I just need to know my next step.
