Amare Ames '25 Recruiting Profile

Currently Attending and playing basketball at Cabrillo College in Aptos, Ca. I have 3 years of eligibility left.

l come from a sports oriented family. I grew up playing for my dad, competing in AAU tournaments across the country. My dad taught me at a early age to work and perfect my craft. My dad would say "Put in the work and basketball will open doors throughout your life". So I created goals at a early age to play basketball for my favorite University. My parents consistently emphasized the extreme importance of getting a good education and getting good grades. And how basketball could potentially assist me in getting a degree. My goals to become a aeronautical engineer stem from my love for airplanes and how they function. I have always maintained excellent grades throughout school with a current accumulative GPA of 3.75.  I witnessed first hand from my older brothers, that playing at the college level can be both challenging, rewarding and equally gratifying. My brothers college success has fueled my passion to become the next college athlete graduate from my close knit family.
