I have been playing basketball since I was 8 years old, although I did not truly fall in love with the game until I was 13 years old. I became interested in basketball because I wanted to be good, be a leader, and be a better person. Playing basketball, I have learned that anything is possible if you put your mind and focus towards that goal you have. I have had a lot of success playing basketball up until my softmore year, when I was cut from the basketball team. Being cut from the basketball team motivated me to get better and to push myself every time I step on to the court. This also helped me grow as a person because it helped me re-focus on what I really needed to do to get better as a player and a person.
Playing basketball I have learned teamwork, commitment and determination, sacrifice, and being leader on and off the court. I am looking for a program that will not only push and motivate me athletically, but to also motivate me academically. I think I have the work-ethic, character and leadership skills to make an impact on your program. Playing basketball and running track, I know I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!
