Will Ross '26 Recruiting Profile

I am a team player that is willing to put in the work to not only make myself better, but my teammates. Since I was in 5th grade, I have been getting up and putting in work before school and have kept it up all year long. I know that through consistent, focused and hard work great things can happen. As a freshman, I made the high school varsity basketball team. As the season progressed, I knew I was someone the team could count on. In the last 5 games of the season, I averaged almost 20 points and shot 43% from three and over 90% from the free throw line.  I was also the smallest kid on the team.

I have been a leader on my team and as a junior was a team captain. I have helped changed the program where as a sophomore and junior we finished 2nd and 3rd in the district where before they had over 13 straight seasons of losing records and finishing last almost every year. 

My senior season we went 24-3, winning 22 straight games. We won our district, made it to states and had a very fulfilling year. I won the District Player of the year, was first team all region, 1st Team All state (BCAV - coaches organization) and 2nd Team All State - media. I was voted the regional area player of the year and led the state of Virginia in threes made per game at 4/game while shooting 44%.

I am going to Spire Academy for a year of post grad so I can continue to grow and face top-notch competition. 

I want to find a college where I can continue to grow both as a human and basketball player. I want to get to find a school that helps push me towards excellence on a daily basis. I want a great education as well as the experience of being a collegiate athlete.
