My name is Elijah Morton. Class of 2018. I am a diabetic and was diagnosed at the age of 8. Being diagnosed at an early age taught me how to be more responsible, because my life is at risk everyday if I'm not responsible for my diabetes. My parents instilled self discipline and responsibility in my older brother and myself, because in the real world, if you aren't, the world doesn't wait on you.
The game of basketball is something I have always loved. Throughout my life, I've always had a ball in my hand or was always talking basketball or watching it. I have been playing since I was 3 years old and I haven't looked back or even thought about not playing ever again. Basketball doesn't make me, but it is a big part of me.
In life, time is very valuable. What you put in it is most likely what you will get out of it. My end of high school goal is to finish with 3.5 GPA or higher and to have a very good recruiting process.
