I have been fortunate to grow up with parents that love and care about me. My Mom, Dad and my brother are the most influential people in my life. They have worked hard to achieve what they have. Watching my brother succeed in baseball at a highly competitive college has motivated me to work hard and succeed in a similar way. In addition growing up in the church has been a big influence in my life as it has shaped my morals and values. I overcame a hard part in my life when I moved from attending a small private elementary school to a larger public middle school. Then a hard decision was whether to attend the public high school with my friends that is very close to my home or to attend a private high school with better academics and basketball program that is farther away. I decided to attend the private school and I know it was the right decision for me. I had a dip in my grades sophomore year and beginning of junior year but my goal is to finish high school with grades I know I am capable of getting, as I did my freshman year.
I have learned key principals of life such as how to work hard, respect others, and be dedicated to something I love through playing the game of basketball. I believe I can use basketball to get a great education. Right now I am interested in studying business or economics.
