2024 SpotlightBasketball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I joined my first team as a kindergartener at age 6. I was blessed that my first coach, Ryan McNeice, continued his role through elementary school. He continued to act as a mentor and greatest supporter throughout my middle and high school years until he passed away in April 2023. Ryan taught me about the kind of person I want to be and really fostered my love of basketball, which made me want to pursue it beyond high school.
I am not the player who thinks that scoring is all that matters, but of course that’s what wins games. I am the player who looks to make the pass. I am the player who looks to get rebounds. I am the player who strives to be the best defensive player on the court at all times. I cheer on my teammates at all times; a win for them is a win for me. I try to keep a positive attitude and mentor the younger players around me in the way that I was mentored.
I have been described as a sneaky player. My average is in the double digits, but it usually happens in a very nondescript way. I view assists equally as important as scoring. I have great court vision and I’m always looking for an open teammate.
Having the opportunity to continue playing basketball beyond high school is a dream and if given the chance, I would not take it lightly.
