Garrett Larson '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Garrett Larson and I am currently a junior and part of the graduating class of 2021 at McFarland High School in McFarland, WI.  I am 6'4" tall and weigh 195 pounds.  It is my goal to play basketball at the college level. This goal began as a dream in the 4^th grade and is something that I have been working hard towards ever since. I truly love all aspects of basketball and have been playing since Kindergarten.

I am a leader on and off of the court. I see it as my responsibility to encourage my teammates and to be a positive role model for them. Having recovered from a previous leg injury my Sophomore season, I understand how to fight back from adversity. This has made me a more dedicated, hard working and driven competitor. I don’t take for granted any minutes I am on the court.

I am a team player who looks to get teammates involved on offense. I do those little things, such as boxing out, getting on the floor for loose balls, passing, etc., that are vital to overall team success. Teams struggle to match-up with me because I take smaller players inside and larger players outside. I am a physical 50/50 rebounder. I am adept at picking and popping on ball screen action. My footwork in the post is strong and adds a true post dimension to my team. I am aggressive and always give 110%

I started playing varsity basketball as a sophomore and anticipate being a starting player my junior year.

I have played AAU basketball for 5 years and am currently on the Hoops Elite team. We are a successful team and I have greatly improved on my basketball skills and acumen over this past year.

I condition year round and, in addition to working on my basketball skills, focus on improving my cardiovascular stamina and muscle strength. I am an overall strong athlete, having played baseball and football at a competitive level.
