Personal Statement
My name is Marty and I will be a senior at Oak Creek Highschool this year. I have a dream of playing collegiate basketball. I am a very hard worker, which includes being in the weight room six times a week, and a basketball workout every day. I also make sure to have time for my studies, and I currently have a 4.0 weight cumulative GPA. I am also involved with the National Honor Society and currently, as of right now, I scored a 24 on the ACT. On the floor, I look to try and outwork everyone else, do the little things, and being a vocal leader for my team. I pride myself in rebounding, guarding whoever I need to, and making hustle plays like diving on the floor and taking a charge. If you need a reference for this you can ask my Varsity head basketball coach, Kyle Johnson whose information is listed in my profile. With this being said, I can also score and pass very effectively. I am a very good 3 point shooter, and I penetrated a lot to either finish or dish to an open teammate. I can pretty much play everywhere except center. As a guard, I really understand how to pace the game, when to slow down, and when to push the ball up the floor. The thing is I am always still getting better, and if anyone asked the people who have coached me, they would say I am a very coachable kid, and I take criticism very well. With all that being said, I have a dream of playing college basketball someday, and am willing to put in the work in order to get there.
