I’ve been a competitive diver since I was 8 years old. I trained with 3 state diving champions who inspired me to strive to be a state champion. I have a goal to set pool diving records at all schools in my conference by graduation. I’m making good progress on this goal as I have already set 1 pool record and plan on breaking the other by strengthening the fundamentals in voluntaries, incorporating weight training and pushing myself to learn new dives.
Additionally, I’ve competed nationally on 1 meter, 3 meter, and Platform at USA and AAU events, as well as middle school, high school and regional club meets. Recent highlights from these meets include placing 13th in the state as a freshman and 4th place in 2022 MHSAA D3 State Meet. I earned Lansing athlete of the week, USA Today diver of the year for greater Lansing area, and Ripfest Diver of the week. I earned conference and regional champion in 2022. In addition to diving, I was on a national champion dance team for many years. While dancing I earned many most photogenic awards and I was awarded top male dancer honors at dance nationals and offered numerous dance intensive training scholarships.
I strongly believe its important to be a inspirational leader in not only the pool and the classroom but also the community. As part of that community leadership, I earned an eagle scout recognition and led a project building exercise equipment for a large dog park. I was also elected by my peers to the Order of the Arrow, an elite service group within Scouts BSA. Additionally, I mentor other boy scouts on earning merit badges and their eagle scout projects. I enjoy being a leader and positive role model for my teammates and scouts. I look forward to continuing my diving career at the collegiate level to further my growth and development.
