Hey there, I'm Cole Gillis, and my passion for golf fuels my drive to succeed!
On the course, I've been grinding to perfect my swing and build mental toughness through AJGA tournaments, JGAA Ping series invitationals and top camps. My senior high school golf season just ended, 2023 Arizona DI State Championships were held in November. I ended up placing 8th as an individual, scoring 141 (69/72), and leading my team to a 5th place finish. The player field was very competitive including some of the top DI committed recruits in the nation.
Last year, as a junior, I placed T4 (6) in the DI Arizona State Championship. This led to an invite to compete at the PGA High School Golf National Invitational this past summer in Frisco, TX. I placed in the top 19% out of approximately 340 players.
I took charge of a rocky academic start in high school brought on by the covid lockdowns. I implemented a plan to improve my grades by taking extra online classes. My GPA is now projected to reach 3.0 by graduation. I am fully prepared to excel both academically and on the greens! I'm eager to be part of a college golf program where I can contribute my skills and passion to the team's growth and legacy.
