Dear Coaches,
My name is Dominic Tochet and I think I would be a great addition to your collegiate team and student body. My specific goals are to compete at the college level in golf while earning a degree from a notable academic program.
Compared to many of my high school peers I regularly play and compete with, I started golf later in life. So, I realize I am 'catching-up'. Transitioning to Arizona just before my Freshman year has allowed me to golf year-round and concentrate on improving my game, athletic conditioning and mental strength. In mid-2021, I transitioned out of the Troon North Junior Elite program that was heavy concentrated on my short game. In late June 2021, I joined the Elite Golf Academy of Arizona where my new swing coaches reconfigured my swing. This enabled me to greatly enhance consistency and distance, while complementing the short game capabilities I worked on previously. Through playing in 24 sanctioned tournaments in 2021, I went from achieving results in the lowest 10% of age-group competitors to being in the top 28% of all Arizona high school golfers (AIA rankings). What I believe will continue to enable me to make advancements in golf and surpass my peers are the incorporation of physical conditioning and mental training coupled with golf game improvement activities.
I believe I am a good candidate because my continued high level of motivation toward self and game improvements - which, had been demonstrated with the advancements I've made in tournament results and handicap. In addition to my time sensitive golf and scholastic schedules, I achieve balance in life as an avid Bass and Fly fisherman, playing video games and mountain biking.
I look forward to speaking with you about the potential to join your team. Thank you for your review and consideration.
Sincerely,
Dominic Tochet
