My name is Ajani Johnson and I attend William Henry Harrison High School in Lafayette, Indiana and I am in the graduating class of 2021 with hopes of taking a gap year following graduation. I am interested in learning more about the men’s golf programs, as I will be entering college in 2022.
My competitive golf career started with playing tournaments in Greensboro, North Carolina as a member of the First Tee of the Triad, then under Ryan Wilson. My family relocated to West Lafayette, Indiana, while I was in the 5th grade. I became the top-ranked golfer on my middle school team during my 7th and 8th-grade year at West Lafayette Jr/Sr High. At the end of my 8th grade, I won the Chief Bender Invitational for the best middle school golfer in Tippecanoe County, carding a 79 on the par 72 courses. To accomplish that score, I had to shoot an even-par 36 on the back nine. After winning the Chief Bender Invitational I played a competitive summer schedule and placed first in the 2017 Central Indiana Junior Golf Association Coyote Crossing Invitational. Beginning in my freshman year, I played on the varsity team for 3 years at Harrison, one of the top-ranked programs in the state of Indiana. As a high school program, we have won 10 straight sectional titles and won 2 regional titles in 8 years. As a sophomore, I was the only underclassman to earn All-Sectional Honors and help lead Harrison High School to their 10th straight sectional title. (Unfortunately due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been unable to realize my dreams for my 3rd year. However, my coach Dave Schneider has identified me as the #1 player captain for the 2021 golf season.)
I spent my early years in Greensboro, playing at Gillespie Golf Course and in the Tar Heel Junior Golf Program and US Kids Golf. I will link my phone number which is the best way to contact me, and personal information down below. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
