Hey coach! My name is John(Henry) Nussbaum and I am a golfer in the class of 2025 at Leo High School just North of Fort Wayne, Indiana. I am someone who works to the hardest of my abilities, puts others first, and most importantly, I aspire to live by my faith.
I have been playing golf for 5 years and have taken it very seriously the last 3, resulting in taking my average from the high-90s to the mid-70s. My work ethic, passion for the game, and guidance from my swing coach have allowed me to improve not only my physical golf game but my mental game as well. Everyone around me tells me that I have some of the best mental game they have ever seen because I can always keep a positive attitude.
Some of my favorite achievements are: posting a 3rd place 72(E) at Brookwood GC at the Concordia invitational, shooting 78 in NE8 Conference at Cobblestone, a 78 at regionals at Stonehenge, and a pair of 78’s at the IHSAA State Finals. Through the summer, I shot an even par 71 and second place at Crestview, a 77 and second place at Muncie Elks, and a 71(-1) 4th place finish st the IGF Junior tour championship at TPC@Woodland Trails. I also won my golf team’s mental attitude award.
I would love to continue my golf journey collegiately as well as my academics. I have achieved an almost 3.9 GPA and a 1270 SAT score. I plan to study Business Management or Marketing. My goals for college golf would be to average under 76 and have a team that can play at the top of our conference.
I appreciate you reading this, Coach, and would love if you would reach out.
