I have been golfing since I was 6 when my dad who was a member of the Canadian PGA got me started. Although I have been golfing for a while I really started taking it serious in my grade 8 year. This is when I started entering into tournaments to compete with my peers and started putting more time into practicing and wanting to improve. My work ethic to improving my swing as well as my commitment to get good grades (honour role for grade 9 and 10) makes me a strong candidate for pursuing a scholarship on a college golf team.
My whole life I have played team sports (hockey) and have been recognized as a leader on these teams which will also make me a strong team member for a college golf team.
This past summer I was employed at Royal Regina Golf Club where I am also a junior member.
I had the privilege of being recognized with the Archie Cameron Award that is presented to a junior member who displays leadership and humanitarian qualities, including integrity and enthusiasm for the game of golf along with sportsmanship toward his/her fellow competitors.
I look forward to discussing my abilities further with all coaches who are interested.
