Personal Statement

I consider myself very lucky to be growing up in the sporting capital of the world with parents and a community who share my love for sport, hard work and dedication. My childhood has been amazing and full of sporting experiences.  I have played Australian Rules Football, Cricket, Basketball and Baseball at a state level.  I have represented my golf club in their Mens Pennant team this year, Colt’s golf team (2 years) and Junior Pennant team (3 years), as well as my school in state tournaments, my region in state and national championships and one day soon, my country and my school in the NCAA.

Since I first began Golf, I have dedicated myself to it.  I am currently ranked Top 5 in the state of Victoria junior merit (under 18).  I have won four Junior tournaments over the last three months and have had many Top 5 and Top 10 finishes in the last year.  My stroke average in tournaments this past summer was 72.8.  I recently won a tournament with shooting a 65 and winning by 5 strokes.

Rosanna Golf Club recently granted me a 12-month Scholarship to represent and play in there Mens Pennant Team.  I was one of only two juniors in the whole division.  I finished with 3 wins and 3 losses and beat two professional players.

I am looking for a university that will allow me the opportunity to compete against the best schools and athletes the country has to offer, while also providing a great education, great practice facilities and the opportunity to play year-round.  Although I have worked harder at golf over the last four years than anything else, I know it’s just the beginning of my career and I cannot wait to represent my future school.

  • Seasons of Club Experience
  • 5 seasons
  • 2022 Rosanna Golf Club (Men's Div 2 Pennant)
  • My first season in Men's Pennant. I was one of two juniors in the field of 80 given the honour to play. Our team finished in 4th place, losing 3 matches by one match. I had two very good wins over two professionals, one loss on the 19th to another professional and lost 2&1 to yet another professional player. I started the season at the number 6 spot (7 spots in total), moved to number 5 after my first match and finished the season at the number 2 spot. I love the pennant season and playing match play against the states best players. In 2 of my losses I was 3 under par which shows the strength of the competition.

This is rated as Australia's hardest golf course and hosted the Final Stage of Australasian Tour Q school the day before. I did not play well off the tee well and with the style of course it makes it very difficult to score with very deep and large fairway bunkers as well as tall fescue grass very close the the fairway. The course played at a long 7300 yards.

It plays incredibly difficult and is a course that demands you be in the right position to be able to shoot low. It was a very strong field. I struggled in the morning to find the middle of my irons but made adjustments in the second round to shoot the 4th best round of the day.
