My name is Brayden Garrison. I am currently a junior at Gilman School in Baltimore, Maryland. My goal is to play collegiate golf at the D1 level.
I started playing golf when I was seven years old. I also played lacrosse at a very high level which limited my time to play golf. Lacrosse was my priority until the summer of my eighth-grade year when I then chose to pursue golf full-time. I have been on our Varsity Golf Team since I was a freshman and have been the number two seed on our team for two years behind a D1 collegiate golf commit. We play in a very competitive league and the stats that I have accumulated are attached below. I have won 4 junior club championships at the Country Club of Maryland. My goal is to improve my stroke play tournament results and I plan on having a very successful summer.
I have attended Gilman since kindergarten and have challenged myself academically with the rigor of classes I have taken. I am currently taking AP Spanish, Honors Biology, and Honors Math. In my senior year, I plan on keeping the same amount of rigor that I have been taking up to this point. My GPA is 4.0 with an average grade point of 94% in high school. I am looking for a school where I can continue to be a strong student-athlete, balancing both athletics and academics. I believe that my experiences to date have prepared me to be a supportive and contributing member of a golf team.
I consider myself to be a talented athlete, playing on the varsity soccer team for 3 years, and have only been playing competitive golf for 3 years. I believe that I will only get better in tournament play and fundamentals as the years go on. I have experience being a student-athlete during multiple sports seasons and would love the opportunity to talk more with you about the possibility of being a member of your golf team.
