I hope to attend a high level school in terms of academics while also playing competitive golf. I am a good candidate for your team because I have a high work ethic and desire to improve and will continue to grow as a golfer through more years of experience.
I started playing golf when I was approximately five years old. I quickly received my first golf achievement at the age of six when I won both the putting and chipping contests in the Mutual of Omaha-Drive, Chip and Putt Competition hosted by The Golf Channel. When I was seven, I became the youngest person ever to get a membership at the courses in Dennis, MA which include Dennis Pines and Dennis Highlands. I have had a membership at these two courses since that time and during the summer I play there regularly. This year, in order to be able to golf closer to my home town of Arlington during the school year, I applied for and was selected for membership at The Lexington Golf Club; a private course in Lexington, Massachusetts.
I was selected for the Arlington High School Varsity Golf team as a freshman and played in the 7 spot that season competing in the competitive Middlesex League Liberty Division. I subsequently moved to the 4 spot as a sophomore and the 2 spot as a junior. I have taken a prominent role in our team’s success the past few years and I expect for that to continue into my senior year. Our team’s home course is at the very competitive Winchester Country Club.
In the summer of 2016, I became involved with the New England Junior PGA and I achieved success competing against other great players from New England. During a tournament in the summer of 2016 I won an event at Bradford Country Club with a score of 76. Of the six tournaments that I competed in that year, I placed in the top five a total of four times. Last summer I once again competed in the New England Junior PGA, and remained successful in a higher age group. Due to my achievements throughout the summer, I was invited to compete in the Tour Championship which contained the top 10 players in the organization. I finished in 6th place at the highly difficult Thompson Country Club.
I am eager to continue my golf career in college and I would appreciate your consideration.
